About the role
We are looking for a Principal Adviser - Program Management to ensure the successful delivery of a program of works focused on increasing productivity of our assets
This role is a great opportunity to plan and deliver projects from initiation to completion and focus on achieving objectives through managing scope, resources, budgets, changes, and risks. You will be involved in an exciting, fast paced area of our expanding business, where all the activity is focused. Working a 5 days on, 2 off roster and reporting to the Manager Program Management Office, you will be:
  • Collaborating with key stakeholders to drive a culture of collaboration, participation and improvement.
  • Contributing to the design and implementation of capital projects covering data, systems and technology; research & development; and business improvement projects across operations and maintenance
  • Establishing partnerships across Rio Tinto (including use of off-shore teams) to support effective program management

About you
To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
  • A relevant Tertiary qualification
  • A strong knowledge of projects with the proven ability to identify opportunities and risks
  • Experience leading and working with a geographically dispersed team in the management of projects utilizing sound project and business management practices
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to work collaboratively across teams
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to engage with senior leaders
  • Experience project managing system implementations and other organizational change activities using a clearly defined methodology
Where you will be working
Our privately owned and operated rail network is an essential part of our integrated production process and services our 15 mines across the Pilbara via 1,700km of track. With depots located at Tom Price, Cape Lambert and Dampier (7 Mile), each train is operated by a single driver and comprises up to three locomotives and 240 ore cars stretching to approximately 2.7 kilometres in length with over 40 trains operating per day. We are also applying and adapting technology to improve safety and productivity across our rail network.
