About the role
We are looking for a Health & Safety Advisor to support the Ranger Mine Operations in the provision of expert advice, support and coaching on a wide range of operational and strategic HSEQ issues.
This role is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to assist in driving the development of a strong health and safety culture Working Monday to Friday and reporting to the Superintendent Health and Safety, you will be:

  • Planning and providing advice and support to improve health and safety performance and manage risk across the portfolio to ensure legislative requirements
  • Providing development coaching for Leaders to assist them to demonstrate their visible leadership through targeted and coached interactions.
  • Implementing the safety program and initiatives
  • Assisting in the audit process through stakeholders engagement on health and safety standards and elements of HSEQ as well as gap analysis
  • Providing expertise for risk assessment and verification of appropriate training for high risk tasks.
  • Facilitating significant incident investigations as well as supporting and coaching health and safety representatives
About you
To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
  • A manual Class drivers licence
  • A broad background in the field of health and safety with Certificate IV in Occupational Health and Safety
  • Experience in a similar health and safety role in the mining sector
  • A broad knowledge and previous application of safety systems- Taproot/Essential Factors accredited training, mines act and OHS regulations
  • Strong understanding of risk management incident investigation methodology
  • Ability to build strong relationships to positively influence health and safety culture.
  • Intermediate level of training or experience with database management and report writing.
  • Analysis of Health & Safety performance and date for reporting and implementing improvement.
It will also be beneficial if you have:

  • Tertiary qualification in any discipline
This role will be offered as a 2 Year fixed term contract

Uranium has been mined at the Ranger for more than three decades and it is one of only three mines in the world to have produced in excess of 120,000 tonnes of uranium oxide.
