We are looking for a technical data analyst to join the Microsoft Store engineering team. The store is one of the biggest e-commerce sites in the world selling games, Microsoft Office, XBOX, PCs and more. The ideal candidate will already have experience in the area of Web analytics and be familiar with Web concepts such as referral tracking, search engine optimization, and digital marketing analytics.

Key Responsibilities:  

• Deeply analyze product sales and site usage to understand the reason for trends and then provide recommendations for improvement.  

• Create reports and dashboards to enable stakeholders to easily access information on their own.  

• Work with developers to ensure that instrumentation/telemetry/tracking is in place to gather required business insights.  

• Design and analyze A/B test experiments to optimize the experiences.    

• Identify the key business metrics that we should use to measure success then build the KPIs and dashboards used by our team.  

• Provide insights on traffic and sales to senior leadership at the monthly business review.  

Basic Qualifications:

• Experience with Web metrics and reporting tools such as Adobe Analytics or Google analytics.    

• Experience with data analysis and visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, SAS, or R.  

• Experience with programming languages used to directly query large data stores including SQL, R, Python, or SCOPE/COSMOS.    

Must have the technical skills required to query and analyze big data:  

• Knowledge or degree on advanced statistics, data science, machine learning would be a great asset.  

• And you must have the presentation skills and exec presence required to present your analysis to the Partner and VP level at the monthly business review and other meetings to ensure that your insights make an impact.
