Located right next to the Silver Queen Gondola, Ajax Tavern is the hub for Aspen casual fine dining in an unbeatable atmosphere. The Tavern comes to life at lunch, and the party rolls on well into the night. If you go no further on the menu, try the truffle fries and Ajax double cheeseburger - they earned their reputation.
Position Summary
Primary responsibility for station assigned; maintains mise en place. And prepares hot and cold foods for the restaurant according to Chef specifications and for catered events as required.

Service Standards
All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance per Aspen Skiing Company Hospitality standards.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Set up station and mise en place to Chef's specifications
• Vegetable preparation: slice and dice, peeling
• Maintains station and area cleanliness throughout shift, cleans work area at shift end
• Properly stores all mise en place at shift end
• Submits production need for following day by shift end
• Bulk preparation for Banquets functions
• Knowledge of safe and sanitary work conditions and proper food storage
• Report to work in a neatly groomed and acceptable manner as outlined in the employee handbook
• Report to shift on time
• Comply with all policies and procedures for the Food and Beverage Department, The Little Nell, and Aspen Skiing Company
• Is familiar with hotel fire and safety procedures
• Assist in emergency and security procedures as directed by management
• Complete tasks and projects delegated by your manager and assist other departments as business volumes and staff levels demand

Minimum Requirements
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Culinary degree or equivalent
• Excellent written and spoken English

Competencies
• Knife skills.
• At least 6 months preparation experience.
Working Environment/Physical Activity
• Kneeling, bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Able to lift 50 lbs.
• Works in hot and steamy environment.
