Jet Ski Mechanic Needed on Island

POSITION SUMMARY / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The Island Jet Ski Mechanic’s primary function is the maintenance of the Island Jet Skies, Outboards, Speedboats and other vehicles as directed by the Island Technical Manager.

  • Assists in repairs as directed by the Island Technical Manager and Island Technical Manager Assistant.
  • Report unresolved issues immediately to Island Technical Manager if additional assistance is required.
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on Personal Water Crafts, Outboard Engines, Speedboats and other machinery as directed by Island Technical Manager.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
  • Order parts, supplies, or equipment from catalogs or suppliers.
  • Work in good cooperation with other Island staff, technical team members, and ships personnel to solve issues quickly and professionally.
  • Responsible to perform repairs as well as maintenance jobs according to AMOS for machinery, vehicles and assigned equipment.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or as directed. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
  • Must be familiar with the Safety and Environmental Protection Policy and the SEMS, and carry out the policies and procedures appropriate for his/her position.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of three years relevant mechanic experience in a similar industry is required.
  • Basic to Intermediate level English verbal and writing skills, including the proper use of English grammar is required.

EDUCATION

  • High school diploma or foreign equivalent is required.
  • Must have a YAMAHA Personal Watercraft Training Course (or similar) from an accredited educational institution is required.
  • Must have a YAMAHA Outboards Training Course (or similar) from an accredited educational institution is required.
  • Must have a SMC (Sheet Molding Compound) & Fiberglass Hull Repair Training Course from an accredited educational institution is required.
