Wildlife Presenter and Educator

A position has opened for a new animal trainer! The actual job will start this summer in July 2017. Specifically what this job entails is doing wildlife shows for schools, summer camps and birthday parties. The criteria we are looking for is someone attractive and youthful (but mature) who can handle a wide variety of animals including scorpions, toads, snakes, alligators, anteaters, lemurs, honeybears, foxes, porcupines, parrots, etc. You must have good presentation skills, be able to project your voice well, be articulate and able to handle crowds, have no criminal record, and like to be the center of attention. You should also have a good driving record. Our range for presenting shows is from Key Largo to Jupiter. If you live more than 30 minutes outside of 33173, it is unlikely this position will fit you. Being able to get here on time for early morning school shows or summer camp shows will be difficult if you are commuting from far away. You will need to be physically fit for lifting and carrying animal kennels. The hours are completely variable and the days definitely include weekends. This is not a 9-5 job. We are essentially in the hospitality industry. Animal experience is not necessary, but can be plus or a minus, depending on how that experience was attained- we train everyone from the ground up. Please note that this is not an easy job! Summers are hot, children can be frustrating, and animals can be unpredictable. You will also have to be able to handle getting dirty and cleaning up after the animals. This is not a job for someone who wants to pet and play with animals! You can have plenty of animal contact after hours. We need a performer! Clean cut and no visible tattoos or unusual piercings, please. We do many events that prohibit that particular look. - able to take initiative and be a self-starter

- have no visible tattoos and/or piercings

- pass drug and background check

Duties include, but not limited to:

- daily animal care and husbandry

- grooming animals

- cage repair and enrichment

- animal diet maintenance

- maintaining an organized, clean and sanitized area for all animals and assigned work areas

- observes all safety procedures

- provide enrichment activities for the animals

- work with clients in a collaborative manner

- assist with animal training as assigned by our management

- able to work with our animals in a public setting

- able to speak effectively on a microphone and possess a positive stage presence

- Confirm you are able to work 4-5 days per week, and are available to work weekends and holidays
