Job Description:
JOB SUMMARY:
Provides exceptional service to the guests and co-workers of Smoke & Rye Restaurant with an upbeat professional and positive attitude. Maintain high levels of guest satisfaction by preparing batch production food items ensuring all specifications and standards are met to enhance the guest dining experience. Ensures menu specifications and standards are met.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Maintains excellent kitchen hygiene and sanitary conditions of at all times.
  • Must be able to read & understand all written recipes and established training guides.
  • Ensures venue product and dining experience surprises and delights the guests.
  • Follows standardized recipes to ensure accuracy with food orders.

  • Keeps station clean and free of clutter during shift
  • Manage high volume orders efficiently.
  • Able to take direction from Room, Asst, & Sous Chef's effectively
  • Must be able to communicate with all FOH staff in a friendly manner and keep a professional attitude at all times.
  • Complete all pre-shift work and break down stations after close following the guidelines of the open/close checklist.
  • Ensures compliance with all regulatory, internal controls, policies and procedures.
  • Stays consistently on task, and can take responsibility for ones work.
  • All other job duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school degree or equivalent required. Must be at least 18yrs of age. A minimum of 6 months food production experience in high volume restaurant industry required, one year preferred. Must be familiar with cooking techniques, kitchen equipment, and knife skills. Must be able to read, understand, build and execute from a receipt. Must be a team player, and work well with others in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications:
PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time, at least 8 hours.
  • Responds to visual and aural cues.
  • Must be able to stoop, bend, kneel, twist, turn, push and pull, as well as maneuver through all areas of the venue and kitchen.
  • Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds and push 100 lbs.
  • Must have the manual dexterity to cut, slice, whisk, grab, grip, type, pull, hold, tear, sort, and reach.
  • Must be able to tolerate areas containing extreme temperatures, second hand smoke, dust, loud noises and bright lights.
  • Must be able to work a varied schedule, holidays and weekends.
  • Must have a neat, professional appearance with good hygiene.
  • Ability to act quickly and exercise good judgment under pressure and/or conflict situations.
  • Multi-task in a fast paced environment with time restraints.
