Job title: Human Resources Business Partner
Department: People/HR/Payroll
FLSA status: Exempt
Reports to: Director of People
Job Summary:
Inspired by our commitment to excellence, the HRBP enables shipmates to create unforgettable memories for our guests. The successful HRBP will provide support & consultation to the fleet, oversee Company benefits administration and employer compliance fleet-wide, and drive & assist with department technology implementations.
Essential Functions:
  • Align business objectives & strategic initiatives with shipmates and management in designated business units
  • Serve as a consultant to management on HR related issues
Benefits & Insurance:
  • Serve as primary contact for all benefit carriers and maintain vendor relationships
  • Ensure Affordable Care Act (ACA) compliance; maintain Paylocity ACA dashboard and ensure offer of coverages are timely and accurate; ensure accurate 1095C completion
  • Administration of VOYA sponsor website including reviewing reports, enrollment, loans and eligibility
  • Conducts benefit reconciliation audits on a regular basis, process and reconcile benefit carrier invoices
  • Maintain Paylocity WebBenefits site including functionality setup and current educational materials
  • Organize annual biometric screenings and 401K educational meetings in each location
  • Provide benefit communication to shipmates on an ongoing basis
  • Reviews weekly benefit carrier file feeds and contribution files for errors or discrepancies
  • Maintains Incidents email inbox and Incidents tracker-follows up with cities and insurance claims representatives as needed
  • Responds to all inquiries and questions from city shipmates in a professional and timely manner
  • Identifies and initiates necessary procedural improvement
  • Process full cycle leave of absence and short term disability administration- communication with shipmates and carriers as well as coordinate payroll and benefits during LOA period
  • Lead and drive annual open enrollment benefit process
  • Lead for audits, including but not limited to, Worker's Compensation and 401K
  • Assist with providing data and preparation for 5500 filings (benefits & 401K) and benefit discrimination testing
  • Ensures the Company is in compliance with federal, state and local employment regulations
  • Ensure labor law posting requirement is satisfied in all locations
  • Ensure annual notices are sent out timely
  • Provide readily available reference labor law tools for the cities to use in regards to hiring & scheduling
  • Work closely with team to identify practices that need correction
  • Consistently manage and update Intranet, Shipmate Access site and N Drive with applicable information
  • Audit & provide quarterly eligibility list for marine random drug testing
  • Promotes and improves Paylocity Self-Serve as a user-friendly and useful HRIS for shipmates
Project Management:
  • Drive & assist department technology implementations
  • Provide acquisition support
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Other duties (including human resources & payroll) as assigned by Director
  • Co-lead Making Waves, BeMoved, and OSS programs
Job Specifications / qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business or related field required
  • Minimum two (2) years human resources experience, 3+ years' experience preferred
  • HRCI or SHRM certification preferred
  • Ability to learn new processes quickly and meet deadlines
  • General knowledge of employment laws and practices
  • Ability to research issues and problem solve as needed
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Able to communicate clearly & concisely in oral and written form
  • Able to manage multiple priorities/tasks, while maintaining a high degree of organization
  • Able to manage time to maximize productivity
  • Able to maintain confidential information
  • Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships as required by job responsibility
  • Qualified comprehensive background check
  • Intermediate to Advanced computer skills required including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
