IT Technician

General Statement of Duties: Provide tier 2 support in the areas of networking, desktop systems and printers. Assist students, faculty and staff with technical issues and problems. Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair desktop hardware and peripherals. Installation, maintenance, and repair of operating systems, networks, and desktop. Install cables, switches, access points or other network equipment. Image, test and deploy desktop systems for faculty and staff. Manage trouble tickets by prioritizing, researching and resolving tickets, including interacting directly with customers. Work closely with the MMA Help Desk staff. Participate in other projects as assigned.
Qualifications: Associate’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience. As least two (2) years of experience providing hands-on technical support services. Basic networking knowledge including experience with ports, switches, routers, Ethernet and TCP/IP. In-depth understanding of Windows-based PC hardware, software, peripherals and Macintosh OS-based hardware, software and peripherals. Ability to work and communicate effectively in a team environment. Ability to provide excellent customer service to a community with diverse technical backgrounds. Ability to independently function in a high paced work environment.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field. Completed A+ certification.
Salary: $25/hour

*Shift & Days Off: 20 hours/week. Monday through Friday; possible weekends
