Barback (on Call)

JOB SUMMARY: 

Assists Bartender with stocking, mixing beverages, pouring beer, and general cleaning.

MAJOR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:    The statements describe the general nature and level of work only.  They are not an exhaustive list of all required responsibilities, duties, and skills.  Other duties may be added, or this description amended at any time.

1. Promotes positive customer relations.
2. Gives breaks to Bartender or Beverage Servers.
3. Mixes drinks as needed.
4. Stocks beer, wine, liquor, ice, mixers, and dry goods.
5. Washes and stocks glassware and utensils.
6. Cleans bar area.
7. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
   
   

LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS (required/preferred):

• Must maintain a valid WA State Health Card/Food Handlers Permit.
• Must have or be able to obtain a Class 12 Alcohol Service Permit.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND TRAINING FOR POSITION (required/preferred):

• High School diploma or GED equivalent preferred. 
• Bartending school or relevant job experience preferred.

SPECIFIC SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ ABILITIES REQUIRED FOR POSITION:

• Ability to work with Point of Sales System. 
• Good character, motivated and hard working. 
• Ability to work well with customers and co-workers.
• Good communication skills. 
• Neat, clean and healthy work habits.
• Must be quick and efficient. 
• Ability to identify intoxicated guests.

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop; kneel; crouch; talk or hear; taste or smell.
• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to sixty pounds (60 lbs.).
• Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
• Some essential functions of the job will be performed within a smoking environment.
• Monitored by surveillance cameras.
