Kitchen Staff Esprit's kitchen staff are key members of the Esprit team who provide the essential service of creating healthy, delicious meals for both our guests and our staff. Experience and knowledge in meal planning and preparation is an asset to the job, however, training is provided for interested individuals with no prior experience. A safe food handling course is recommended. Minimum 18 years old.
Bar Tender Esprit's bar tenders are responsible for the responsible serving of alcoholic beverages to guests. They are also responsible for the "meet and greet" of late night arrivals including providing tours of the facility and arranging camping and hostel accommodation. Bar tenders also manage the campfire area on the waterfront and are responsible for setting the nightly fire (fire restrictions permitting) for our guest's enjoyment. Experience and a bar tending course are preferred, however, training is provided for interested individuals with no prior experience. Minimum 18 years old.
Pointe Staff Pointe staff are key members of the Esprit team which carry out all the necessary logistics of running the basecamp and maintaining its cleanliness. There are no required certifications, however, applicants must be minimum of 18 years of age.
Office/Reservation Staff Esprit office and reservation staff are the lifeline of everyone employed at Esprit. They are the front line staff which interact with all Esprit's guests and co-ordinate all programs and packages. Office staff are positive, sincere, friendly and are willing to bend over backwards to make each and every guest's experience with Esprit unforgettable. Office staff must be familiar with operating windows based computer programs and be comfortable with the internet. Minimum age is 18.
International Hostel Coordinator Esprit is a member of Hostelling International (HI) and is open to FIT (foreign independent travelers) from April until October. As many as 20 different nationalities are staying at Auberge Esprit and take advantage of the facilities, the local area and the different adventure programs available through Esprit. The Hostel Coordinators job involves meeting the traveler's as they arrive at Esprit, promoting the various opportunities for adventure available to them, assisting with any of the travelers needs and overall insuring their stay with Esprit is unforgettable. The Hostel Coordinator is also responsible for the management of the hostel overnights, scheduling of rooms and guide services. Required certifications include SRT level 1, Wilderness First Responder (72 hour first aid course), CPR, CRC guide license and hostel management experience (minimum 1 year). It is strongly preferred that the Hostel coordinator speak a minimum of 2 languages other than English.
