Position Description:
The primary responsibility of the Executive Director of US Shared Services - Processing is to manage the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Inventory Control, and Payroll functional areas within the US shared services accounting organization (“Shared Services Organization”) and ensure compliance with all US reporting requirements. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and Las Vegas Sands’ policies, practices, and procedures.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
# Actively collaborates with the Chief Accounting Officer to maximize the strategic value of the Shared Services Organization
# Establishes and ensures the vision, mission, and goals of the Shared Services Organization are communicated and executed
# Develop metrics for monitoring departmental and individual team member performance (i.e. KPIs)
# Identify and implement process improvement initiatives to promote efficient practices, systems, processes as they become available
# Aligns the Shared Services Organization goals with the goals of LVS and Corporate Finance
# Formulates the Shared Services Organization policy
# Actively collaborates with the functional area Directors to maximize the Shared Services Organization’s strategic value to LVS and identify operational improvement projects
# Maintains an understanding of ongoing priorities and promotes equitable work load distribution
# Develops and motivates the Shared Services Organization team in a team environment
# Develops the people strategy with support from the Chief Accounting Officer and Functional area Directors
# Develops goals and targets for the Shared Services Organization and for the individuals within the Shared Services Organization
# Drives the identification and documentation of key technical and operational risk issues and works with the Chief Accounting Officer, VP of Accounting and the Shared Services Organization to address such issues
# Leads the business partnering program to promote the vision of a service-oriented organization
# Monitors and supports the business partners of the Shared Services Organization team
# Communicates actively in order to clearly identify the specific designated Shared Services Organization contacts to Properties and Operations leadership
# Serves as the designated contact for all executive-level LVS properties/Operations team members
# Responsible for overall strategy for bringing new properties into the Shared Service model
# Communicates regular status updates to the Chief Accounting Officer on key reporting, planning and internal process improvement activities
# Communicates the value of standards, protocols, and policies to Shared Services Organization staff in order to promote compliance and set clear expectations
# Ensures the production of accurate and timely financial information and transaction processing in accordance with GAAP and LVS' accounting policies
# Evaluate the results of business operations using periodic financial and budgetary statements (regularly and systematically), formulating and implementing corrections for observed deviations from expectations
# Responsible for enhancing and promoting a sound control environment and understanding our Sarbanes Oxley 404 documentation and internal control testing around the Shared Services Organization
# Identifies potential problems, recommends sound solutions and supports implementation
# Manages Human Resources responsibilities for assigned department(s) to include: creating a work environment that promotes teamwork, performance feedback, recognition, mutual respect and employee satisfaction; quality hiring, training and succession planning processes that encompass the company's diversity commitment; adherence to the company's status quo third party representation philosophy; compliance with company policies, legal requirements and collective bargaining agreements
# Performs additional duties as directed by senior management
Job Requirements:
Minimum Employment Requirements: Must be at least 21 years of age, proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States, high school Diploma or equivalent. Ability to communicate effectively in a positive/upbeat fashion utilizing English, both in oral and written form. Have interpersonal skills with focused attention to guest needs to deal effectively with all business contacts. Maintain a professional, neat and well-groomed appearance adhering to LVS appearance standards. Maintain consistent adherence to the LVS Unmatched Guest Service Standards. Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Specific Position Requirements:
# At least 8 years finance/accounting experience, including 3 to 5 years in a shared services environment required.
# Must have at least 3 to 5 years of prior experience in a senior level finance management role with proven experience in improving processes related to: Procurement-to-Pay cycle, Payroll and / or Accounts Receivable.
# Must possess at least a Bachelors Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field of study.
# CPA or equivalent preferred.
# Previous experience with international finance/accounting management preferred.
# Work in a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment.
# Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude while dealing effectively with guests, management, team members, and outside contacts while working under pressure and meeting deadlines.
# Must be able to frequently move freely about the office, maintain manual dexterity to access computer via computer keyboard and operate office equipment, such as telephones, copiers, fax machine, etc., withstand various activities such as frequent walking, sitting for long periods and withstand prolonged standing, stretching, bending and kneeling without restriction.
# Be able to work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to CRT fatigue, noise, dust, cigarette smoke, and be able to access all areas of the property.
# Ability to lift or carry a minimum of 20 pounds, unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks assigned.
# Must be able to work with others, communicate well, give direction, review the work of others, and provide guidance and counsel when needed to achieve department goals and objectives.
# Must maintain a positive attitude toward work and interface with hotel guests in a congenial and polite manner.
# Must be able to address stressful situations with clients with dignity and the utmost tact and politeness.
# Must be able to touch and handle supplies in a safe and non-hazardous manner, maintaining proper hygiene, cleanliness, and disposal methods.
