Position Description:
JOB DESCRIPTION: Community Outreach is one of RWEYOWA's core projects/activities in which the community outreach team visit the the HIV/AIDS patients, widows, elderly people and orphans in their respective homes. We provide material support to the beneficiaries especially food and clothes.
Referrals to the partner health facilities are also provided to those in need of immediate medical services and the related health support.
For the HIV/AIDS patients on treatment, the community outreach team provides adherence support including counseling.
RESPONSIBILITIES: The volunteer (Ass. Community Outreach Coordinator) will be helping the coordinator to organize home visiting, monitoring and reporting the progress of the project activities, organizing fundraising activities and mobilizing resources for the project to benefit an increased number of beneficiaries. Community Outreach Program is all about teamwork and the Ass. Community Outreach Coordinator will be directly involved.
REQUIREMENTS: Skills are not very much considered but ideally, the volunteer should have some of the following skills;
1. A good level of spoken and written English
2. Computer literacy
3. Communication skills
4. Proposal and report writing
5. Fundraising/Resource acquisition
The international volunteer is required to meet a program fee of $350 per month. This helps the organization to cover the related costs of meals and accommodation for the volunteer.
The volunteer is also required to meet his/her flight and health insurance costs.
