Position Description: The marine mammal department at the John G. Shedd Aquarium is offering a five month internship in the fall (deadline July 1), winter (deadline November 1), and summer (deadline March 1). Interns will gain first-hand experience in marine mammal husbandry including cleaning, food preparation, and record keeping. Where appropriate, interns may take part in interactions with cetaceans, pinnipeds, and penguins, but animal contact is minimal. The intern works toward accomplishing a special research, observational, or administrative project. A commitment of 32-35 hours per week is required.
