DUTIES:
As an Engineering Equipment Operator in the Patuxent Research Refuge in Laurel, MD, you will:

    * Operate a variety of gasoline or diesel powered engineering and construction equipment with wheeled and crawler type traction and attachments;
    * Operate farm tractors with auxiliary equipment for mowing; farming, maintaining dikes and other related activities;
    * Service, check, and fuel equipment before operation;
    * Check and service attachments used; and
    * Perform daily preventative maintenance and make repairs and adjustments to equipment and attachments to equipment.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

In order to be qualified for this postion, you must possess have operated a variety of gasoline and/or diesel powered engineering and construction equipment with wheeled or crawler type attachments to move, grade, backfill, or level earth to rough specification irregular terrain or to exact specifications on level ground. In addition, you must have independently performed routine maintenance on these vehicles to ensure that all parts, including attachments, are in working order and are safe to use.
