Internships are UNPAID, require academic credit. Must be enrolled as college junior, senior or graduate student. Students must be able to receive course credit for LA internships. Note to International Students: All international students will be required to provide documentation of proper visa paperwork prior to arrival if accepted to the program. Only student visas J1 or F1 visas will be accepted. Due to the high volume of candidates for Turner’s Internship Program, interested students are encouraged to apply for openings as soon as possible, as these positions will be filled on an ongoing basis.

Internship Description:

Interns will have the opportunity to observe both the Larry King Live staff and host in the following functions: b-roll shoots and interviews on occasion; pull, edit and log library videotape searches; help print scripts and rundowns for regular tapings and live shows; research and pitch story ideas; participate in regular booking and production meetings; assist bookers with research and contact information during breaking news; meet and greet guests while also assisting the floor director during daily routine shows. Interns will learn the ins and outs of the latest entertainment, political and breaking news stories, while learning how a story pitch moves from an idea to a finished one-hour live show with Larry King.

Qualifications:

In order to facilitate the learning experience, the following qualifications are preferred: Journalism major or related field. Students must have completed a broadcast journalism production class. A firm grasp of pop culture/entertainment news, eagerness, ambition, and initiative are also strongly encouraged.
