Position Description:
Under minimal supervision, performs routine but varied clerical duties in accordance with standard policies and procedures in support of the bottling department.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Schedules and plans manpower requirements optimally utilizing employee skills and abilities to obtain the best productivity rates on any given bottling line. Communicates with shift manager regarding running lines and special needs.
• Determines and communicates the need for overtime and weekend work.
• Staffs employees to meet overtime and weekend work needs.
• Creates early start up schedule and determines light workload (LWL) schedule.
• Posts manning schedule in designated areas and distributes manning list.
• Coordinates scheduling with supply chain function; adjusts manning as appropriate.
• Completes shift summary using absence report; calculates shift totals.
• Notes and reports attendance incidents.
• Coordinates training activities.
• Maintains training records; tracks certification and recertification requirements.
• Ensures training supplies are readily available.
• Resolves most questions and problems, and refers only the most complex issues to higher levels.
• Participates in the daily and weekly payroll process for the union work force.
• Participates in preparing various bottling performance reports.
• Participates approving, processing and tracking vacation hours for the union work force.
• Provides support to union work force with regard to time and attendance, and various customer service issues.
• Tracks employee hours with Kronos timekeeping software.
• Participates in FMLA tracking.
• Must maintain satisfactory attendance, to include timeliness.
• Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental and safety regulatory considerations. If accountable for the work of others, responsible for ensuring their understanding and compliance.

QUALIFICATIONS:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• High school diploma or GED plus 2 years of operations experience.
• Available to work all shifts. Overtime and occasional weekend work required.
• Skilled in the use of MS Word and MS Excel a basic level.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Customer service or production/manufacturing experience in a union environment.
• Experience answering questions and performing tasks that arise in a union workplace.
• Experience reading and interpreting the language in union contracts.
• Experience working under pressure, meeting aggressive deadlines and making sound decisions.
• Experience communicating professionally with employees regarding scheduling.
• Experience working independently with little or no supervision.
• Skilled in maintaining accuracy and flexibility under varied time, priority and job assignment changes.
• Experience reading and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Experience writing routine reports, correspondence and procedures.
• Experience effectively presenting information and responding to questions in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization at many levels.
• Experience using discretion when dealing with confidential information.
• Possess good organizational/record keeping skills; skilled in multi-tasking.
• Experience working with Kronos timekeeping software.
