We seek a qualified individual to serve as a Climate Change Safeguards Coordinator. This position achieves conservation victories by educating, engaging and organizing wildlife enthusiasts, conservation leaders and other key constituencies around NWF’s Northeast Regional Center’s Climate Change Safeguards Campaign.

Specifically, the Climate Change Safeguards Coordinator will focus on the following priorities: 1) Organizing a diverse northeast climate change safeguards network, including organizing a series of safeguarding workshops and conferences to bring together NGOs with government agencies.

2) Maintain the regional offices general website and a new regional safeguarding website, including content for the site and activists identified by the site; and

3) Developing partnerships with state and regional officials to work collaboratively to ensure wildlife survive the effects of global warming.

The SOC will report to the Senior Manager for Climate Change Safeguards, while being an integral part of a larger team that includes local affiliate leaders, regional and national staff.

Education:

Qualified individuals must have a four year college degree in environmental policy or related topics. Required Skills:

A minimum of five years of organizing or outreach experience with a minimum of three years experience in conservation policy or advocacy is required.
