# Report to General Manager, Fuel Engineering.

# Interface with external program groups, such as Halden Reactor Program, SCIP, ISTC and EPRI.

# Interface with NRC technical evaluators and management during technical review.

# Co-lead with Fuel engineering leadership team in US and Japan technical development plans for new fuel technology deployment.

# Author and present papers at selected industry conferences.

# Evaluate in-reactor performance and behavior of nuclear fuel, cladding, and assemblies using a combination of post-service inspection and examination data, testing, and modeling.

# Develop models of fuel, cladding, and assembly behavior for incorporation into predictive codes.

# Assume responsibility for or contribute to development of new fuel products or technology enhancements.

# Interface with customers, service suppliers, regulatory personnel, and various internal functions and organizations.

Qualifications:

# M.S degree in nuclear, materials, or mechanical engineering or in physics or applied mechanics; 10+ years of experience in evaluating fuel or materials irradiation behavior OR PhD in applicable engineering discipline or in physics or applied mechanics, and 8+ years of work experience.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

# Possess unrestricted authorization to work in the United States. Desired

# Knowledge of fuel and materials behavior in nuclear reactor applications, with understanding of irradiation effects and heat transfer principles.

# PhD in applicable engineering discipline or in physics or applied mechanics, with 15+ years experience and publications evaluating fuel behavior.

# Advanced engineering analysis and programming skills. (Numerical analysis and thermal-mechanical modeling techniques.)

# Familiarity with fuel and components manufacturing technology and challenges. # Familiarity with irradiation testing techniques as well as principles of nuclear safety.

# Familiarity with provisions used to assure quality in fuel fabrication and in calculations and analyses.

# Strong oral and written communication skills.
