Position Description:
Contributes to the production of segments for SportsNation. Must be able to find topics, generate unique angles, interact with the fans, and then coordinate b-roll and copy with rest of team.

Responsibilities:

- Participates in or is responsible for the creative development of SportsNation segments; writes and produces assigned elements. - Oversees the production of assigned elements ; coordinates with production crews to schedules production activities

- Gathers news, facts and video for assigned productions; researches and prepares story ideas for future productions

- Designs and edits teases, sales features, promotions, roll-outs and special animation elements for assigned productions and shows

- Conducts research in the video archives to obtain material for assigned features - Operates under close and frequent supervision, within the context of highly defined studio production processes

- Work is subject to close and regular scrutiny by Coordinating Producers at regular intervals and milestones

- Contributes creative concepts to show

Qualifications:

    • At least 3-4 years of television production experience

    • College degree, preferred

    • Fluent in twitter and facebook.

    • Sense of gfx design is helpful

    • Demonstrates and applies basic mastery of many operating processes of the Studio Production Department

    • Has fundamental experience working with television; has and applies basic experience in the conduct of several relatively complex processes and procedures carried out in the Studio Production Department

    • Good appreciation of popular culture, e.g., "what’s cool" and assists with defining the tastes of ESPN’s viewers.

    • Knowledge of what "works" on television and what is realistic to accomplish in time allotted for show production

    • Has and applies a basic knowledge of what story ideas and concepts to use for assigned elements, teases, sales features, promotions, roll-out and special elements for assigned productions and shows

    • Has fundamental knowledge of sports and sports history

    • Has fundamental writing skills

    • Easy to work with as show has strong group debates on show content.
