Position Description:
Senior or senior staff level geologist with expertise in structural geology and or stratigraphy. Candidate should be familiar with thrustbelt terrains and deepwater sedimentation. Job duties include, but are not limited to: 1) Analyzing all geologic data and incorporating it into structure and isopach maps used for prospect generation.
2) Creating balanced cross-sections in complex geologic regions.
3) Portfolio development and advocate for drilling prospects from inception of a project through development.
4) Responsible geologist during drilling operations and analyzing open hole logs.
5) Coordinating with engineering staff in reservoir management.
6) Preparing exhibits and appearing before State and Federal regulatory agencies.
Appalachian/Ouachita experience is a plus but any experience in a thrusted terrain is acceptable.
Position Requirements:
Strong skill sets in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Powerpoint) are required.
Expertise in use of the following software is necessary: Geographix, Petra, 2D Move, and ARCGIS.
Minimum of MS degree or Ph.D in structural geology with 5 to 7 years experience desired.
Candidate should be experienced via their graduate studies and/or industry experience in mapping of thin skinned thrustbelt terrains and have expertise in the techniques of balanced cross-section construction.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time, permanent basis
