Position Description:
Universal Music Publishing Group is currently seeking an Associate Manager of Digital Fulfillment for the Los Angeles, CA location.

SUMMARY:

The Associate Manager, Digital Fulfillment position shall be responsible for coordinating and maintaining the Hard Drive fulfillment in an efficient and timely manner. The Associate Manager will be responsible for maintaining the "Master" replication stations, inventory, testing of new software versions, troubleshoot issues that may arise as they relate to fulfillment for new orders, as well as, monthly updates of new releases. They will also supervise the Coordinators of the department to ensure they adhere to company guidelines and processes. They will also be expected to work very closely with the UMPG IT team as technology evolves to continually review better ways for delivery and fulfillment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintain a clean and neat environment of the "Master" stations for the various audio file types. They must be proficient with the company’s software programs, MusicBooks, MusicPitch, MusicSource Editor, and MSHD (the program utilized to produce the drives and updates. They will be responsible for quality control of all outgoing drives whether or not they are new drives or monthly updates of new releases. They will work with the Technology department in troubleshooting client problems, as well as, new software releases. They will be responsible for ensuring the raw materials are in stock and ready to deploy when needed. More specifically;

    1) Maintain accuracy on all KT/FC HD masters, (all audio types, metadata and images), as indicated by "CSM report", ("Control-Shift-M report"). Keep and maintain one "back up" copy of all HD masters.

    2) Prepare all audio for KT/FC for HD Fulfillment masters a. MP3/BWAV/AIFF – ALL with metadata attached (i.e. "Sound Miner")

    b. Contact/keep relations with KT/FC Production Departments regarding existing and "new release" titles. Must keep time table as set by the production release schedule.

    c. Contact/keep relations with Art/Marketing departments in regards to images needed for KT/FC titles included on Hard Drives.

    3) Work closely with HD fulfillment manager and Technical Operations Manger to schedule updates to MS as they effect Hard Drive Fulfillment department.

      a. Work closely with vendor (Counterpoint) in requesting/implementing fixes and upgrades to MS as they pertain to HD fulfillment.

      b. Should only have updates to MS no more than once quarterly.

      c. Test all updates thoroughly before implementation.

    4) Work closely with Technology Manager to schedule updates/fixes to MSE as they effect the HD Fulfillment department.

    5) Maintain and control all inventory for HD Fulfillment

      a. Hard drive inventory for orders

      b. Hard drive inventory for KT/FC updates

      c. Returning HD and Update Drives. (Formatting and re-stocking)

    6) Prioritize and supervise the creation of KT/FC Hard Drive orders

      a. Create HD orders through MSHD create utility

      b. Run "DB-util"

      c. Put order through QC check list

      d. Ship HD order

      e. Enter necessary information into MB (Tracking number) and MP (serial number)

    7) Supervise department Coordinators

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

The typical incumbent has a minimum of an Associates Degree and at least two years of experience working in a fast space, technology department servicing outside clients. The ideal candidate must be very computer literate, understand audio file formats, metadata, the idiosynchracies between Windows based computers and Macintosh based. They must possess excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office and internet applications, outstanding verbal and written communication skills as well as strong people skills, demonstrate attention to detail, ability to multi-task, as well as proven organizational talent in a high volume environment is critical, as the fulfillment is how clients get the music they license.

MENTAL / PHYSICAL ABILITIES REQUIRED:

Requires strong ability to remain flexible, calm, cool and collected as this postion juggles a high volume of expectations, technological challenges, and deadlines. Must have good interpersonal skills and be able to manager people.

EQUIPMENT USAGE:

COMPUTERS INCLUDING WINDOWS AND MAC BASED OPERATING SYSTEMS, EXTERNAL HARD DRIVES, USB DEVICES, INTERNET, SHIPPING OR MAILING EQUIPMENT.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

Works in an office atmosphere
