Position Description:
This Control System Specialist will report to a Maintenance Area Manager in Upgrading and will be responsible to ensure the high availability of all DCS/PLC and Plant Safety Systems.

Description of Accountabilities:

    - the overall day to day functionality and operations of the DCS/PLC and Plant Safety Systems
    - ensuring all system upgrades, backups and disaster recovery plans are completed to ensure support it in the Upgrading Plants
    - operational support of DCS/PLC and Plant Safety Systems, as required by Operations and Maintenance

      Qualification Requirements:

        - Experience in software, Honeywell TDC 3000, PLC's, Triconex and Honeywell FSC
        - Related post secondary education
        - 5 years experience in field

        - This position is based at our Main Plant located 24km north of Fort McMurray.

        - Shifts Schedule: 40 hour work week (this may vary depending on the position)
        - Safety: Suncor's Journey to Zero is a strategy aimed at eliminating all occupational injuries and illnesses
        - Upgrading: We have two upgrading facilities on our site that take the bitumen froth and crack it into petroleum products. We custom blend based on customer demand and ship the product via a pipeline to our customers both within Canada and the North American markets.
