Position Description:
The Staff Nurse (RN) takes exceptional care of people by coordinating and leading the patient care team in the assessment, development, implementation, and evaluation of the plan of care in accordance with the guidelines and standards of nursing care as outlined in the Nurse Practice Act.

The Staff Nurse (RN) performs all responsibilities/duties required by the Critical Care units as defined in the scope of service, to assure that the unique nature of the patient is addressed. This includes, but is not limited to, the age of the patient served in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU), Emergency Unit (EU), Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), Transport Team, Progressive Care Unit (PCU) and Cardiology.

Qualifications:

    - Graduate of an Accredited Registered Nursing (RN) Program or anticipated graduation in 12 months or less
    - Current RN Licensure or ability to obtain within 90 days of graduation or Temporary Permit in Missouri
    - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification or ability to obtain prior to direct patient contact
    - Basic Computer/Keyboarding Skills
    - Must be able to lift/carry 30 lb independently

Minimum 5 yrs pediatric critical care experience, preferred BSN, preferred NRP, PALS, ACLS, TNCC or ATCN, preferred Ability to lift or carry 200 lbs with assistance, required
