Position Summary:

The Director of Product Development is a key member of UMGD’s Product Development team. The New York based position will be responsible for maintaining close relationships with UMG’s owned and distributed labels so as to best deliver on products and services deemed important to their business. This person will be the go-to Product Development team member for New York based labels. The ideal candidate will be an outgoing, forward thinking individual with excellent communication skills. Extensive music and media experience is required.

Job Description/Primary Responsibilities:

• Responsible for identifying and introducing new products and services for Universal Music Group’s owned and distributed labels. • Work closely with labels to identify specific product needs, offer potential solutions and work to quickly implement strategy. • Work to optimize existing products and partnerships to increase revenue generation. • Evaluate application of new technology platforms to best serve label strategies. • Establish and maintain numerous partner and client relationships. • Liaise between partners, labels and business development in the negotiation and drafting of agreements. • Support labels through the integration of new products into sales and marketing plans in order to maximize revenue. • Coordinate the execution and introduction of new products company-wide through engagement of key business units. Job Requirements: • At least 5 years of music/media industry experience required • BA or higher required • Active in social media/tech savvy • Ability to craft and deliver executive-level presentations • Excellent oral and written communication skills • Strong relationships with technology/media companies • Self starter/highly motivated individual • Forward thinking with a creative approach to problem solving • Passion for music is a must!
