Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Assist in generating comprehensive proposals based on client specifications, site conditions, policy considerations, competitive landscape, and strategies provided by members of the SunPower’s Utility Sales Team.
• Supporting the achievement of aggressive sales goals for the US utility group
• Researching target utility markets to develop utility value propositions
• Streamlining, standardizing and improving the proposal development process, customizing documents to be used in proposing to assigned utility accounts
• Supporting compliance with regulatory processes and procedures necessary to assure successful project development
• Research candidate sites for project feasibility, using public sources to determine factors like parcel ownership, zoning, and current land use
• Analyze possible competitors and partners
• Identify local policy and development requirements which may affect project
• Form working relationships with other SunPower departments, including Project Management and Finance, to gather requested information for proposals.
• Create proposal content under the guidance of the Sales Team
• Tracking policy developments and opportunities to capitalize on target markets
• Developing customer-focused product and service presentations
• Working with legal counsel to develop & negotiate contract terms for EPC agreements and Power Purchase Agreements
• Tracking regulatory environment as it impacts project economics and project implementation
• Tracking offerings of competitors in the utility sector.
• Coordinating with projects team in cost estimation for utility projects
• Determining feasibility and cost savings for new value propositions

Education and Experience:

• MBA in business, finance or other relevant area of study from a top institution
• Five plus years experience in the energy industry
• Real Estate development experience desirable
• Coursework in Land Development and Policy preferred
• Coursework in Energy Policy and/or Technology useful

• Excellent oral and written presentation skills

• Entrepreneurial, self starter with a burning desire to learn and win
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize competing time demands
• Strong analytical skills.
• Fluency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, and Google Earth
• Proposal writing experience
• Familiarity with GIS desirable
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Highly effective communicator with strong writing skills
• Detail-oriented with strong time management skills
• Effective at creating, summarizing, and presenting information logically for executive decision making
• Knowledge of finance and business concepts
• Understanding of utility regulatory environment desired, not required
• Experience with environmental review processes desired, not required
